Mara

Mara’s love story with drum and bass started in 2008. Born and raised in Geneva, DJ and Singer Mara grew up surrounded by dnb, dubstep, dancehall, reggae, and dub sounds. By that time she was a raver, always front row at the dnb parties.

She studied graphic design at HEAD Geneva. After graduating in 2016, she started djing out of passion and took any opportunity she could find.

In 2018, Mara became quite known in the French dancehall scene with some singles she released, and she slowly evolved to mix drum and bass tracks inspired by artists like Sub Focus, Chase and Status, Rusko, Dimension, Mandidextrous, Delta Heavy, Grafix, Dirtyphonics, Wilkinson, and Rudimental to name a few.

She built her reputation on stages from Geneva to Paris, and on MOUV’ (Radio France), where she hosted a weekly one-hour mix from 2018 to 2022.

Even though Mara has gained popularity with her music over the years, she is also a host on top of being a full time dj and producer.
She runs her own record label and curates her own parties: the Foulamerde parties with a wicked selection of drum and bass, jungle, dancehall, and dubstep sounds. She recently presented her new concept Baedroom : a pyjama party with Drum & Baes where she proposes a new way to party : at home in her bedroom.

Her positive energy behind the decks is contagious and makes you want to move your body, whether you want to or not.

She is also resident at Subset, the finest drum and bass parties in Switzerland where she played alongside names like Kanine, Hedex, Bou, Serum, Voltage, and soon with A.M.C. and Dimension.

Over the past year Mara has performed at some of France, Switzerland and Canada’s largest events and venues including Montreux Jazz, Paléo, Solidays, Frauenfeld, Marsatac, Ardentes, Francofolies de Montréal...

DJ, author, composer, and performer, Mara started production in 2024. Constantly learning new skills, she is working on developing a unique sound, whether it’s by ad- ding creole vocals, or doing her own vocals in French or English. She has prepared multiple tracks for upcoming releases and she’s now ready to take over the world !
