LILA

Raised in Hackney and based in London and Leeds, Lila began as a DJ and presenter on her local radio station at 18, interviewing musicians and showcasing new, local releases. Through this, she discovered a love for DJing and has since established herself as a recognised name in the Leeds club scene and beyond, playing and specialising in broken beat, soulful house and percussive heavy dance music.

Beyond DJing at clubs and events, her love for jazz, soul, latin and afrobeat fuels more selective and atmospheric sets which she dabbles in within the world of electronic dance music DJing. As part of her passion and collection of a diverse range of music, she set up Braindance Events in 2021, specialising in bringing derivations of Broken Beat and Funky sounds to the Leeds scene. This night prioritises thoughtful promotion and creation of lineups, with the strong intentions of gender balance and respect in night spaces.
