FILM a.k.a. Sanil Sudan is a 34 year old New Delhi based DJ, Producer, and curator at the two mainstays for electronic music in the capital. Sudan makes dancefloor-friendly House, Breaks, and IDM under the alias FILM. To celebrate old Detroit techno through leaner productions, Sudan uses the moniker Tyrell Dub Corp.

After being selected for Border Movement’s two month residency in Berlin in 2017, FILM shortly made his Boiler Room debut (stream here) in 2018. FILM’s emotionally complex electronic music is informed by hip-hop, jungle and pop music arrangements to present ebullient sets, that have seen him behind the decks at some of the most coveted stages across Europe and South Asia. His time in Germany gave him access to play some of the finest clubs in Berlin such as Griessmuehle, Katerblau, Suicide Circus and Golden Gate.

Sudan is the force behind Delhi’s monthly ‘Medium Rare’ parties where he has consistently stirred up a fresh cocktail of underground dance talent. As FILM, he has been hosting the Medium Rare series since 2017 and brought in international obtuse beatmakers such as Moodymann, Zenker Brothers, Mor Elian and Ciel to name a few. His sprightly track of the same name (“Medium Rare”) was released on Indian-origin global electro phenom SUCHI’s curated compilation in December 2021. FILM is a resident at Boxout.fm with a radio show dedicated to deep cuts from the techno and bass world and glimpses of his own productions. The show is also obviously titled ‘Medium Rare’.

Big Hammer hits every month. Featuring new music from Hammer’s Remmah label and beyond, plus lots of unreleased material.
