“London-born, Leeds-based Freddie Baker (Bakey) first caught people’s attention in 2018 with ‘Cookie’ – a moody rap collaboration with BNC Javen, which he produced when he was 17. Since then he’s released various solo EPs, full of groove and consistent with his signature style which pays respect to a wide array of genres from UK Garage to Break-beats to Jungle. Bakey is also not afraid of getting his hands dirty with some remixes, including a slinky edit of Flowdan’s Welcome to London, and most recently a remix for Nia Archives’ ‘Conveniency’. His work has caught the attention of some prolific and long-in-the-game artists, such as Joy Orbison, Ben UFO, Nia Archives and Interplanetary Criminal.”
