Asian Core
INVITE UNOS
For this episode, I’m welcoming UNOS, a Filipino-Belgian producer and DJ whose sets are as electrifying as her name, which means storm in Bisaya/Tagalog. A true force on the decks, she navigates effortlessly through house, techno, breaks, and trance, crafting energetic, sensual, and deeply engaging soundscapes. But ASIAN CORE is more than just music so expect a moment of shared vulnerability, a dialogue where the racial burden could be set aside, allowing us to exchange doubts, reflections, and resources. That’s the power of these encounters: a space to be, to connect, to uplift.
Filipino Belgian producer/DJ UNOS has mastered the art of energetic, engaging & sensual sets. Her name, 'storm' in Bisaya/Tagalog, mirrors her selection's tornado-like quality; Unafraid, challenging the fabric of dance music and public's expectations. Her DJ sets exist in the realm of versatility and range from house and techno to breaks and trance, creating both a moody and melodic ambience.
Cementing her place in the music scene by being part of Singapore’s most notorious electronic underground label “Darker Than Wax,” UNOS’ music transcends people onto dance floors and puts them into a trance.
Driven by a strong sense of community, she has been teaching beginner music production classes with an emphasis on the creative process for over five years. In addition to collaborating with renowned venues like Trix (Antwerp) and AB (Brussels) in Belgium, she has also taught classes at Wild Pearl Studio (Singapore) and with Manila Community Radio (Philippines).
As a DJ, she had the pleasure of sharing the decks with influential artists such as Aurora Halal, Vladimir Ivkovic, Avalon Emerson, Octo Octa & Eris Drew, Floorplan, Bambounou, CC:DISCO!, Cinthie, Jamie Tiller, Gerd Janson, DJ Boring, Saoirse, Lefto, Dean Chew, ALiA and many more.
